Safety is not a slogan at Cipembele — it is how we run every site, from toolbox talk to demobilisation. Our record: zero lost-time injuries across all programs to date.
Every crew member can stop work if something feels unsafe — no exceptions, no repercussions.
Managers walk the drill pads — risks are raised face to face, not filed away.
Continuous drilling, HSE and first-aid training for every crew, every rotation.
We hire and train from the communities we work in — capability that stays after we leave.
Founded in 2021 by Managing Director Leroy Schultz — building on the legacy of ATL Drilling Services — Cipembele is a 100% Zambian-owned pillar of innovation, efficiency and sustainability in the country's mining sector.
Our strength is a dedicated, well-seasoned team with a proven track record in remote, challenging terrain — delivering reliable, high-quality drilling and exploration for the toughest environments.
We combine deep-hole diamond rigs with digital integration so your geologists get trustworthy data in real time — and adapt methods on the fly to protect core recovery in difficult ground.
Boart Longyear LF90D diamond rigs — deep-hole accuracy and high pullback capacity.
D&B multipurpose rigs streaming 40 telematics parameters live from the drill.
Switch barrels on ground feedback to stabilise fractured zones.
Connectivity on remote sites for live collaboration.
Real-time core/RC data synced to client geologists.
Crawler-mounted D&B multipurpose rigs handling diamond core and reverse circulation from a single platform.

Crawler-mounted multipurpose rig
Self-loading crawler base, four hydraulic outrigger jacks, water injection pump and night-operation lighting.

Deep-hole multipurpose rig
Air-conditioned movable cabin, rod handler, wireless remote tramming, jib crane and high-temperature cooling for 50°C+ operation.

Surface diamond coring rig
Telescopic dump mast, Nitro-Chuck fail-safe jaws, interlocked rotation barrier and angle drilling 45–90° — our deep-hole workhorse at Mingomba and Kanyamata.

Fractured formations, significant water loss and hard rock at 500–700m+. We mobilised specialised rigs, ran triple-tube in fractured zones, and used Starlink + CorePlan for live collaboration with client geologists.

Our first deep-hole program on Mingomba ground — a single hole of 788.63m drilled in under a month, averaging 28.59m/day across PQ and HQ. A main hydraulic pump failure was repaired on site within 24 hours, and the team closed the quarter with 10,708 man-hours worked and zero injuries.

5,048 soil and stream-sediment samples collected across two ongoing exploration programmes and delivered to the lab — completed 19 days ahead of schedule. We drilled a solar-pumped borehole supplying the field camp 2km away, and employed 53 local community members.

A zero-incident culture with strict procedures, daily inspections, toolbox talks and alcohol/fatigue testing.
Minimise footprint through rehabilitation, waste reduction and water & energy stewardship.
Respect traditional landowners, hire locally, and build skills and long-term opportunity where we operate.
Share your geology, depth targets and timelines — we'll propose method, rig mix and schedule, and come back with a quote.
